Kirsten Miller is soon to have a new release, this intriguing book to the left, The Eternal Ones, which centers around a paranormal theme we don’t see too much of in today’s market rife with vampires, werewolves and demons. It releases August 10, 2010, but starting today I’ve got two copies to give out. You can learn more about the book and read an excerpt here.

Haven Moore can’t control her visions of a past with a boy called Ethan, and a life in New York that ended in fiery tragedy. In our present, she designs beautiful dresses for her classmates with her best friend Beau. Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother’s house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is, and who she was.
In New York, Haven meets Iain Morrow and is swept into an epic love affair that feels both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Iain is suspected of murdering a rock star and Haven wonders, could he have murdered her in a past life? She visits the Ouroboros Society and discovers a murky world of reincarnation that stretches across millennia. Haven must discover the secrets hidden in her past lives, and loves¸ before all is lost and the cycle begins again.
So what do you think? Is reincarnation a theme you like to see in fiction?

Hmm, this reminds me vaguely of the Emma Thompson/Kenneth Branaugh movie Dead Again — which was fantastic.
And then there’s the granddaddy of all reincarnation love stories: Somewhere in Time (Chris Reeve was HAWT in that movie!) Oh! Or is Knight in Shining Armor the grand-daddy of all reincarnation love stories?? Hmm.
Overall, I’m kind of on the fence about reincarnation themes. I think, as with most things, if it’s done well, it can really work. If it’s not done well, it can be really, really bad. But I think readers would be interested in reading a reincarnation story that is well written and engaging.
I think instead of reincarnation, that it is blood memory. Memories from our ancestors that is stored in our blood cells. Some of us feel it more than others. Hence being afraid of water when you have had no personal experience in water.
I’ve always been curious about reincarnation. I think it’s one of the those “Hey, you never know” kind of subjects. lol As a teen, I always felt more mature and different than some of my friends. I think in a past life I was a completely different person that the person I am today. lol Ok, enough of the crazy talk.

I love that this book is centered around reincarnation. Past lives have always intrigued me. It’ll be interesting to see where The Eternal Ones will take this concept, plus the added concept of eternal lovers. And it’ll be fun to see their past lives unfold. OOOOOH! :D
While I don’t believe in it myself (although I could tell you plenty of speculations I’ve made about my own fictional past lives ;) I love romance based around reincarnation. I like the different stories based throughout different time periods and the links between the two characters that keep popping up during their recurring lives. I’ve heard a lot about The Eternal Ones and can’t wait to read it for myself!
I think its interesting. Definitely cool :-)
I’ve always entertained the thought of reincarnation and whether it exists, so this novel sounds very interesting.
I’d like to read more about this!
I love books about reincarnation. I think it’s entirely possible so it’s very interesting to read about.
I am open to the idea and find it very interesting. I’ve seen Chances Are. Good movie!
I haven’t read any books that deal with the subject of reincarnation but the idea is very appealing, would love to read about it!
Please don’t include me in the giveaway as I live outside the US *grin* I just wanted to comment anyway :)
Part of me shies away from the thought of reincarnation…and pat of me is intrigued. Learning from your mistakes and re-connecting with certain souls.
My brother and I always joke that we must have ridden with Genghis Khan in a previous life…and thus are reaping the ‘rewards’ in this one. But…somehow I don’t think you could stray too far from who you are…learn and grow yes, but not be the complete opposite.
I think it would be interesting.
I really want to read this book.It sounds interesting.
I do believe in reincarnation. We all have to go somewhere :)
I love the idea of it being about reincarnation and the cover with the symbol as well….Ann Brashare’s “My Name is Memory” is also a recent fabulous work about reincarnation that I highly recommend!
I think that we may live before or many times…and that influences what we are drawn to in future lives…for me I am a 18th-19th century English lit junkie, it all seems so real to me like I have lived it….
Thanks for the giveaway,
Courtney
I haven’t really read too many novels having to do with the re-incarnation concept. It sounds really interesting and would love to read it so count me in on the contest.

I don’t really believe in reincarnation but I find the idea very interesting. It would be cool to think you’ve had past lives and that some piece of each stays with you. Hmm, I wonder…
I think that reincarnation can be a great book topic if it is done properly. Whenever I think of reincarnation I end up thinking about L. J. Smith’s story in her Night World series :)
I think that the subject of reincarnation is fascinating and that its nice that people are forward enough to go ahead and base a book on it. Five Paws in my opinion!
I totally believe in Reincarnation. It is definitely a great topic to read about. I have always wanted to be hypnotized to see what my past life was.
I always find stories centering around reincarnation intrigueing. It’s such an open theme that authors really have a wide field of parameters to play with and I enjoy seeing the unique twists each author puts on it with their own style.
I think the idea is extremely interesting! I’ve never been one to say that it has to be heaven or hell so I’ve always been interested in all the other possibilities of what could happen.
I’ve always found books dealing with an afterlife interesting, Reincarnation is an interesting topic to deal with because it opens avenues of what kind of person you would be in a different environment or cultutre. Would I be me if I had been raised differently?

I like reincarnation in stories if it is done well. The problem I have seen is that it can become cheesy if the authors don’t write it well.
