Hello, fellow historical readers! Can you believe half the year’s gone by and left us in the dust? Quick, let’s get in our July reviews before anything else happens. I’m not going to put in a link below to my monthly historical read because it was a DNF for me, but you can follow that link if you’re curious and want to give me any incentive to keep trying to finish it. At this point, I wasn’t motivated to. As they say, better luck next time.
So now it’s up to you – what did you read this past month?
Below you’ll find a Mr. Linky Widget. Simply type in your name and/or blog name and book title (where it says “Your Name:”) and the link to your specific Year of the Historical March review (Please make sure it is the direct link to your post and not simply your site’s home page.). And yes, if you have more than one, just enter each separately. You do not have to leave a comment after submitting your review – that’s just an automatic part of the widget, but you’re certainly welcome to comment if you’d like.
If you have any questions, just drop them in the comments section. Thank you!

I don’t know what to tell you KMont! I’m looking forward to reading the new book by Loretta Chase, “Last Night’s Scandal.” I really enjoyed her release from last year, “Don’t Tempt Me,” not perfect, but it was a fun one. And you and I both read and loved her classic Lord of Scoundrels. Soooo, why not take a chance on reading her new release as next month’s YotH read?
I’ve read lots of “Historical Romance/Americana” this year — classics actually. It has kept me reading the genre. I’ve reduced my victorian/regency reading for now to a minimum (only a few authors I really enjoy) so the stories feel fresh when I get to them. I think I got tired of all the “sameness.” But, who knows? Next year, I might crave them again and I’ll be bring that gigantic TBR down. ;P
I dunno what it is about this year, but my reading overall seems to be in this weird funky state. Ugh. And the Chase suggestion is a good one and the second or third I’ve heard in support of her books this last month. I’ve got a release of hers from 2009, I believe. Will probably try that one next! :)
And hopping over to see what you thought of the Kleypas. After reading the review over at Dear Author, I wasn’t so sure about getting it anymore. I have the previous one and still need to read it.
KMont, I also read the DA review and well… I happened to like both of Keyplas’ latest releases… Married by Morning a little less than Love in the Afternoon. I believe these are the ONLY new releases in this category, besides Mary Balogh’s “A Matter of Class” that I’ve enjoyed recently. But that’s not to say that you’ll enjoy them — I think I remember we both liked Win and Merripen’s book a lot, and I like this book as much as I liked that one. :D
It sucks when you can’t find something awesome to read. Good luck for next month!!
Thanks, Lori! :)
Soon I will read a historical romance…soon *grin*
And I hope next month’s book is a doozy :)
