Giveaway: Bewitched and Betrayed

A little postman (or woman) birdie dropped a veewwwy lovely package on my doorstep yesterday – a brand spankin’ new copy of Bewitched and Betrayed by Lisa Shearin. And you know what? It must go to someone that will love it and hug it and squeeze it. And read it. I’ve already got a copy and read the delicious little book. It’s made me so happy! Then this cute little new guy showed up and…well, it deserves a home where the love isn’t all used up for the exact same title. I mean, no doubt, he’s a swell little book, but he’d be a robust, strapping one for you. Or you. Or you. He’s not picky!

For those that haven’t read this series yet (gasp!), please know that this is book four in a haaaa-aaaawt fantasy adventure series.

So drop me a line in comments about which book was the last one you got that “afterglow” feeling from. One that left you feeling light-as-air happy and basking in said book’s lustrous haze, maybe even days after. Why…afterglow? Honestly because so many people were happy about a few books releasing today, and I just love it when you guys love your books. C’mon, I know you know that feeling that I know you’ve felt before and you know you want to talk about it. You know?

This is a quickie! I’ll pick a winner on Friday. One comment per person. U.S. only, please. Go go go!

ETA (May 3): And we have a winner! Congrats go to:

Anna K.!

I apologize for the delay in announcing a winner. I’ve had some interesting personal dilemmas arrive since last Friday. I certainly didn’t mean to let the winner announcement go this long! But congrats to Anna, and thanks so much to everyone that entered.

The last book that did that for me?? It was #2 in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews!! I can’t wait for Magic Bleeds!!
I will have to look into this series, as I have not heard of it!

    • Natasha, I hop you do look up Shearin’s books. If you like Kate Daniels series I bet you’ll like these too. :)

    • Oh yes, I sure did lol. Nothing like a great adventure read to pull you away from the average, tiring work days. :)

And thank you for the tweet!

  2. Sounds like a great book.

I had a wonderful afterglow after reading Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between by J.A. Saare. This afterglow lasted an entire week! It made me feel so good that I gave one away as book that I loved. I wanted to share it so bad! Afterglow is a wonderful way to describe the feeling. :D

  3. I think the last book I felt that way about was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I couldn’t stop thinking about it!

As you know I read the first one in this series thanks to your and Angie & Janice’s dissucssion on Twitter. I’ve already reserved the 2nd book from the library!

  4. The latest read that gave me that feeling was Jim Butcher’s Turncoat. I am trying to avoid spoilers for Changes since I haven’t picked it up yet!

  5. Recently, I really enjoyed DemonKeepers by Jessica Anderson. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  6. I love The Morganville Vampire series and I’m looking forward to the latest release Kiss of Death!

  7. So I am a new fan of Lisa Shearin. I am looking through the recent book purchases on my Kindle and it HAS to be “The Trouble with Demons” that last left me with that feeling. I just LOVE Raine’s sense of humor and wit. There is no other character I have ever read with it. Perhaps before that was Patrick Rothfuss’ “Name of the Wind”, which was so incredibly good it got devoured (one of the last physical books I read so voraciously).

  8. OH ME OH ME!!!! *waves arms*

Last book that gave me afterglow.. I guess it would be SILVER BORNE by Patricia Briggs. I loved it. But what I DREAMED about? That would be GOING TOO FAR by Jennifer Echols.

  9. The last book that gave that feeling was Molly Harper’s Nice Girls don’t Live Forever.

I LOVE Mrs. Shearin’s Raine Benares series, thank you for the great giveaway!

  10. I just finished Lover Avenged in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.

I haven’t read anything by Ms. Shearin but this series is on my TBR list. I’d love to win this book.

  11. The last book that left me with that “afterglow” feeling was Katie MacAlister’s Steamed – a fabulous book. I also really loved Nicole Peeler’s Tempest Rising and Gail Carriger’s Soulless – I thought about them for days after I finished them.

  12. My last “afterglow” book was PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE by Cole. One of my favorite books last year was THE MADNESS OF LORD IAN MACKENZIE by Ashley, the hero has asperger’s syndrome. I still think about this book nearly a year later.

  13. Finished Hell Fire recently, loved it. Glad Corine made that choice. I have Bewitched and Betrayed on my wish list, I’d love to knock it off.

  14. For me, I’d have to say Kushiel’s Dart. It’s an old-ish title, but when it came out I was kind of too young to really appreciate it. My girlfriend and I have been going through the series together, and now that I can enjoy the series I absolutely loved it.

It’s gorgeously written, fantastically plotted, everything about it is enjoyable. Both my girl and I are incredibly quick readers, and it’s so rare to find a book that not only takes a fair amount of time to get through, but one that takes time even when it’s so good you can’t put it down.

I could barely wait to start the sequel!
