Hi, fellow Year of the Historical challenge participants! It kind of feels odd posting for April already. I have some good news personally this time – I have a review for April! I still need to catch up on two books (February and March’s reviews), but I’m hopeful that will still happen. I’m also still hopeful that I’ll bust out of my reading comfort zone and tackle some mainstream historical fiction as well as YA, and possibly some steampunk that has a good grip on a world based on a real historical time period. Is there any kind of historical fiction outside your comfort zone that you’d like to try?
In the meantime, let’s get started listing out our April reviews.
Below you’ll find a Mr. Linky Widget. Simply type in your name and/or blog name and book title (where it says “Your Name:”) and the link to your specific Year of the Historical March review (Please make sure it is the direct link to your post and not simply your site’s home page.). And yes, if you have more than one, just enter each separately. You do not have to leave a comment after submitting your review – that’s just an automatic part of the widget, but you’re certainly welcome to comment if you’d like.
If you have any questions, just drop them in the comments section. Thank you!

I read 3 this month. 4 actually, but I haven’t written the review for the 4th yet.
Teddy, no problem on that fourth review. Feel free to post in in April if you like or another month even. Your choice! :)
Thanks for featuring historical fiction books. These are my favorite! I put a link in for a book I just finished by author, Robert Fripp, and the title is “Power of A Women.” Fripp takes you into the world of Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine in an in depth way as the story is told through Eleanor. Very interesting read – I couldn’t put it down!
I read a ton of historicals, but only now realized I NEEDED to review one of them, for crying out loud! Forgot to put the title in my Mr Linky, but it’s 9 Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake.
So I don’t know what happened but my second link posted about halfway through typing it and it goes to the wrong page. :( So feel free to delete it (the one that just says “mistress of the”) and I’ll post the correct link. Sorry!
I don’t know why all my links are coming up in bold today! Anyway, I read Mistress of the Revolution too, and really enjoyed it.
I noticed it bolded my link as well, or it had last time I looked. Not sure why it does that. o.O
