I remember somewhere, probably Twitter, people discussing the idea of a zombie romance – and it looks like it’s here. Maybe? The only author whose story I could find a blurb for (or maybe it’s a blurb for the whole book? I just do not know!) was from Lisa Cach:
FOUR WOMEN ARE ABOUT TO DIG UP THE TRUTH
Tired of boyfriends who drain you dry? Sick of guys who stay out all night howling at the moon? You can do better. Some men want you not only for your body, but your brains. Especially your brains.
It’s true! There are men out there who care—early-rising, down-to-earth, indefatigable men who’ll follow you for miles. They’ll take the time to surprise you, over and over. One sniff of that perfume, and you’ll have to use a shotgun to fight them off. And then, once you get together, all they want is to share a nice meal. And another. And another.
Romeo and Juliet, eat your hearts out.
Actually, it does sound more like the blurb for the whole book. Yay! Maybe. Releases December 29, 2009.

Releases February 2010. Click here for an excerpt. It appears to be a standalone.
Widow Megan Culbin has inherited a cottage in Findloss, a cursed village in Scotland that was lost once in a terrible storm, buried in sand that killed everyone in it. But now it is returned to the light of day. The village is cursed in other ways and Megan’s only chance at survival is to ally herself with the selkie king, Lachlan.
And I’m curious if anyone stopping by here has read her? Any recommendations?

There’s no blurb for this one yet, but the cover was too much to resist. One, because it’s kinda eye catching color-wise, and two, the guy’s eyes look like he was in a rumble, had to have some plastic surgery and the doctor thought it would be fun to make him look like a freak.
I’m not sure if this is a sequel, a new start to something…but it’ll be here March 2010! Perhaps the author will update on her site soon, so you should check here to see.

Maverick has been penning these Crimson City books for a while now and I don’t know anymore where this one might be in the series as a result. I haven’t read any of them either, but if the series is still kicking this long, tehy must be making readers happy somewhere. This one sounds pretty good; wondering if I can read it without having read the others…
Named for the angels, Los Angeles is a city of demons, a crucible of souls. It is Crimson City. Here vampires and werewolves vie for dominion, humans build soldiers of flesh and steel who seethe with fury. But alongside strife can be love–a love that cares nothing for species or origin.
Yet, love doesn’t always conquer. Marius and Jill have long been kept apart. Bound by destiny yet forbidden true union, he is vampire; she, human. And a marriage alliance that promises peace for all others shall separate them forever.
As if peace might be achieved so easily. Darkness is rising: a mysterious plot shall force every inhabitant of Crimson City to take sides. Deliverance exists, but first must come a tale of impossible passion and discovery, of Marius and Jill in a race against time leading back to the city’s paranormal beginnings, to Victorian London, to an era of invention and a world of *CRIMSON & STEAM*

Ha! The zombie romance may have been from my twitter conversation about a post of mine on why they make bad heroes. Though there were several others. I’m going to have to check it out! And Selkie Bride and Rion and maybe Dragon Unmasked, it is a lovely cover.
Yeah, there was a whole bit on Twitter about how zombies would NOT be sexy heroes, good ones, etc. Hilarious. I’m loving the sound of Rion too. I have enjoyed some similar plots from other authors before.
10 Reasons Zombies Make Bad Romance Heroes?
Oh I bet we could come up with more than 10 reasons lol.
Oh I’m sure! But shouldn’t ten one be enough? lol
Thanks for the great post.
Some great books to look forward to.
All the best,

No prob!
Hey, I’m wondering that about the liz maverick book, too. I really liked Wired, which I think she wrote, but never got on the crim city bandwagon. Hmm. Also, that candy heart on the zombie book cover is funny.
I might get it. And just dive in. The thought of starting at the beginning feels daunting for some reason.
The zombie book sounds funny altogether.
My credit card doesn’t like you right about now, K. No, it doesn’t! LOL
Well, I am the credit card’s natural enemy in the wild. :D
Ha! Oh dear, haha, I just choked on my coffee. :D lol
I won’t be able to see the pretty covers until I get home *pout* but some of these books sound rather interesting :) I like the sound of…it is Melanie Jackson’s book?
Heavens! Post a beverage alert, please! I nearly spat tea all over my keyboard laughing at the blurb for that zombie romance!
Oh my goodness, look at all the yummy covers! Yes, I know I’m late to this party, but I MUST look up the Pendragon Legacy books. That looks sooooooooo good.
Thanks for the heads-up. I’m so bad at keeping up with all the new/upcoming releases.
