I have a couple in this series and have yet to pick them up. Witch Fury is book four in Bast’s Elemental Witches series and releases June 2, 2009. Click here to visit the author’s site.
Sarafina Connell is having the worst week of her life. It takes an even darker turn when an infamous playboy kidnaps her and reveals a world she never knew existed….
It’s a world where magick is real, and where Sarafina is given a chance to join a secret cabal that is bent on gaining absolute power. They could use a woman like her—a witch with an untapped gift for creating fire. But she isn’t about to get in league with the devil.
Rescued from her captors, Sarafina is introduced to a coven that is duty-bound to fight the forces of darkness. She’s pleased that her savior is the imposingly seductive Theo—until the trust between them goes up in flames. However, as the war between good and evil is waged, Sarafina and Theo realize they have no choice but to unite in the battle for supremacy—that’s getting hotter by the minute.
Last Vampire Standing is book 2 in Haddock’s Oldest City Vampire series and releases May 5, 2009. Click here to visit the author’s site. Has anyone read the first book? Liked, disliked?
228-year-old Francesca Marinelli thought her past was dead—then a stranger from the Atlanta vampire nest crashes her home looking for sanctuary. A budding stand-up comic, Jo-Jo’s running from an undead superior eager to drive a stake through the heart of his dream job. But Jo-Jo’s bad jokes aren’t the only dark clouds on the horizon. A psychotic vampire with a murderous agenda has followed Jo-Jo to Florida, putting everyone close to Francesca in danger.
Hunting Memories is book two in Hendee’s Vampire Memories series. The first book looked interesting enough – I might pick it up one day. Not to mention it doesn’t look very long, a plus for me these days. Click here to visit the author’s site. Releases October 6, 2009.
“You are not alone. There are others like you…”When she read those words, Eleisha Clevon knew she had to respond to Rose de Spenser’s letter and connect with another vampire. Both reluctant predators, they venture outside only when the hunger becomes unbearable, try not to draw attention to themselves—and feel guilty when ending human lives.
But Eleisha has learned a way to draw blood from her victims without killing them. She wants to share this knowledge with like-minded vampires and create a haven where they can exist together—and forge a united front against Julian Ashton, a vampire who has been hunting down and destroying his own kind for the last century.
To win Rose to her cause, Eleisha must risk meeting her face-to-face, knowing full well she might be an agent of Julian’s—but never expecting the revelations Rose has to share about Eleisha’s own vampire origins…
This one’s described as dark urban fantasy. The cover just screams erotic to me, though. We shall see. Shadowfae is the beginning of a new series and releases October 13, 2009. Click here to visit the author’s site. Me wonders just how far the seducing by the heroine is going…because it sounds like a lot. This appears to be the author’s first book.Steal souls.
Live in hell.
Never die.In a city infested with psychotic fairies and run by sadistic vampire mafiosi, life as a soul-sucking succubus rarely involves lacy lingerie, hot guys or great sex.
Instead, Jade must spend her nights seducing gangsters and murderers, or simpering as a trophy girl for hell’s minions.
So when she discovers a forbidden ritual that promises to break hell’s thrall and set her free, she’s got nothing to lose, even if it involves seducing the four most repellent souls in town.
But when you’re cheating hell, there’s always a catch…

Shadowfae’s cover is hot! I should pimp this one out. I read the first book by Barb Hendee and it is better if I don’t comment on it. :P
Yeeee on the Hendee comment, lol. That good, eh? :P
I had noticed that the first one didn’t get rave reviews, but chalked it up to reader differences. Hmmmm, guess I’ll see. I’m reading the first in the Noble Dead saga written by her and her husband, and it’s not bad so far. Not particularly astounding either, but OK.
The first book in the Noble Dead series is allegedly the first book Barb ever wrote and it is just barely over 250 pages. At least give us 300 pages!
You mean her first Vampire Memories book? I saw it was short – and honestly I’m needing sort reads these days. I just cannot keep up the reading enough to support Lurv with reviews. Maybe shorter books is what some need.
Do you think a longer book would have helped in Hendee’s case, though? To flesh out characters and plots more, maybe? I’ve thought this about other, shorter books before.
Anya Bast’s Witch series is AMAZING! Love that series! And the newest release, Witch Fury’s cover is very cool! :)
JEssica, I agree on Bast’s covers for this series. All have been good, but this one takes the cake so far. Very nice. I’m a bit scared of the gal lol.
I have an award for you on my blog!
I have yet to start Bast’s witch series – even though I’ve had the book on my shelf since September. I really should work on that. lol
I love that Shadowfae cover!
Thank you KMont! You keep introducing me to authors and books I’ve never even heard of! (Sometimes I wonder if I live with my head inside a paperbag…LOL!)
And yes, very pretty cover for Shadowfae!
I love the covers for Anya Bast’s Elemental Witch series. I read the first book and LOVED it. It was one of my favorites for 2007. The second book was okay, but didn’t wow me. I have book three, but haven’t read it yet. I should really get to it, though, before Witch Fury hits the shelves in June.
I’m digging the Shadowfae cover, too. I love the scroll stuff at the bottom with the butterfly–very artsy. :)
Oh, Shadowfae sounds really nice :)
Hi KMont :)
I just stumbled across this post. Thanks for showing everyone my beautiful SHADOWFAE cover!
That WITCH FURY cover is sensational! Anya Bast’s covers just keep getting better and better. I love the Elemental Witches and can’t wait for the next book.
